I think auctions tend to reflect actual gun worth faster than retail or manufacturers do, because of supply-demand dynamics.
Retailers are slower to match those prices because they already paid full retail price from the manufacturer for those weapons and want to make a profit. In fact, the gun i paid NIB off gunbroker for cost 300+ extra at retail. Once the drop in demand catches up, i'm guessing the prices will drop to reflect that as these folks try to sell off their stocks.
Retailers also have to pay rent and have insurance for their brick n mortar stores. The basic real-estate crap
Their clientele is mostly local so their stock is limited to what they can sell.
Online vendors buy in bulk, and their clients are nation wide. very hard for local shops to beat that.
Here in Lawton, all of the shops have colluded. The prices are all the same and pretty high priced as well. $459 for a shield 9mm
