I know this is a sin but I buy a lot more beer and cokes than I drink. I have a really bad habit of buying a six pack, drinking one or two then not touching it again for a couple months, or buying a six pack to take fishing then not drinking it and leaving it in the cooler to get nice and hot for a couple weeks.

Long story short, I save these unopened cans and use them for targets. Love watching them vaporize when you hit them with a .44 Mag. Poor man's reactive targets :D

Paper is boring when you are just shooting for fun. I guess I'm still a kid at heart but I like it that way.

A reactive target that doesn’t leave behind a mess is water frozen in a Quick Trip cup. Tip out the ice block onto the berm or shooting platform and hit it with a large caliber bullet or shotgun slug. Add food coloring for more of a visual effect. Fun times!

Indeed. I've also done it with one gallon and five gallon versions. Bricks are fun too (just don't stand close). To your point, we always pick up the debris since its a range build on my brothers property.

I hate seeing cans and all kinds of junk shot, and its always those shooters who leave a heck of a mess at a range.
my pleasure in shooting is seeing neat little holes exactly where I wanted to place them.

I shoot cans with the kids. We keep a 5 gallon bucket next to the target stand and when we are done, we all go out and pick up the cans and put them in the bucket. Then the next time we shoot we just have to get them out of the bucket. :-) Also teaches them to keep the range clean (and saves the lawn mower.)

You guys all have some great ideas for targets. They sound like a lot of fun to try. Anybody have anyplace they want to offer up to shoot yet?
