An older lady I work withwanted a gun after her neighbor had a home invasion. I sold her a 6" Taurus .357 and gave her some light .38 specials to load it up with. Figured it would be easier for her to handle than the 12ga this other guy suggested. She still hasn't taken it out, so who knows...

The 38 special is inadequate in regards to capacity, this was a 357 magnum btw see here https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10160088945505215&id=100420735214

AR, shotgun, .44 Mag.... Train with it, shoot the heck out of it and load it with the proper ammunition for home defense.

This will do the job as well as anything IMO/YMMV...

Whether or not an AR is ideal for self defense is not germane to the gun control discussion.

"They" don't care about self defense or the right thereto so getting into pissing matches over which gun is better for self defense or trying to argue against an AR ban because it's "better" is pointless.

One thing I forgot to mention about that picture is the buffer on the gun. It's a modified cycling system from Dead Foot Arms and it shaves five inches off the overall length of the gun.
