After long thoughts, I think that's going to be my next build. Full up on the under 100 grain calibers, need to build something in the lower mid range 120 grain or so. I have everything in the parts bin except the barrel. What barrel manufacturer are you looking at?
Still studying, from all accounts palmetto 20 inch is accurate but looking at the Grendel forums ... so many options . It being the only long range /hunter I will ever build I will forgo my cheap bastard motto and spend some more if needed!! Let me know if you find something off the charts.

PAC-Nor barrels are about the hottest thing going lately. They were on fire last time I checked.

Oh I know the ones off the charts.
Shilen Barrels barrels is what I use in my .243 WSSM 1:8 and 1:12 AR uppers.
Get some big money out of your wallet because these match grade barrels aren't cheap and there are others out there that cost more.
If you're looking for one of the best in long range accuracy, get one of these. If you're looking for quality hunting barrels there are others out there that will work well for most hunters. I hunt deer in areas with long range being the norm, not the exception. Last year, a post in the hunting forum with pics was over 400 yards with the .243 WSSM in the AR platform, so I want something that has ultimate accuracy.

From Shilen:
"These stainless steel masterpieces of machining and hand lapping are intended for the competition shooter-- or even the hunter-- who wants the ultimate in accuracy and quality. These are our highest grade barrel and, of course, the most costly. What makes them so good that benchrest shooters, such as Tony Boyer, crave them? Consider this: To meet Select Match Grade criteria, the groove diameter must air gauge within .0003" of our standard diameter. Moreover, the uniformity of the bore cannot vary more than .0001" for the entire length of the barrel. These barrels are also completely stress relieved, and the bore is polished to a gleaming surface finish by our most experienced hand lappers."

Get yourself a good file and take them bad boys down a thread or two.

That's certainly an option, but they need to be brought up a hair as well so they aren't quite so recessed into the screw hole on the grip. If you look close at the pic, you can see what I mean. If the O-Rings don't do the trick, and I think it will, they will just go in the Grip Box.

The #60 O-Rings from Lowes worked fine. They brought the top of the grip screws up flush with the grip screw holes plus, they allow the mags to go in and out freely, and they somewhat cushion those G-10 Grips a bit. Maybe that will help keep them for cracking under the force of the tremendous recoil of WWB 115 GR FMJ...or that Federal 115 gr stuff in the old purple box from Walmart. That's special ammo you know.
