I‘m a God loving constitution believing red blooded veteran American with my oldest God loving red blooded patriotic American son serving in the Army now.

Ive never done anything but PRODUCED in this country and i‘m at the point I support single payer healthcare. That’s right, when the producers in the middle are getting ****ed by a system like this we should all share in the pain. .gov employees, Congress, everyone should be in the same plan, a universal single payer health care system. Let’s all get in this brown water together.

So you're bassackwards in this deal. Healthcare blew up when the government passed the ACA (Obamacare) and that's not even up for debate. That legislation single handedly destroyed small business, and individual insurance pools. They knew it was going to happen.

Let me ask you this, look at how expensive health insurance is with the government telling insurance companies what they have to cover. They've taken all of the risk/underwriting out of it. So with the government taking all of it over, where do you think that money will come from? Also think about how much worse it will get if the government takes it over in terms of waste, service, etc. No accountability whatsoever.

Get the government out of healthcare and allow more free market.

I agree but that will never happen and I’m tired of being in the screwed class.

Also many countries manage single payer just fine (a lot of the horror stories are propaganda) and I doubt my taxes will increase $35k for it so I’m all in for the single payer unless another solution occurs. But something has to break.

I’m not paying $20k a year premiums for a $15k deductible. Yes, that’s the best plan i can get as a self employed American.

it’s nonsense. Pay $20k for the privilege of $15k deductible then still get to pay 20% after that? We are being bamboozled In the USA on healthcare!
If the border had closed tight 20-30 years ago we likely wouldn't have this problem.

No they don't and honestly none of those countries are near as large and as unhealthy as we are.

Tired of getting screwed by the government...... so you want to give the government MORE control? How does that work? Think about how that would look under this administration? You'd have to provide your vaccination status, turn in your guns, prove your woke status before getting any treatment. :D

Ask them to send you a picture of the three other families who aren’t paying that you’re covering, so you can pray for them and send them Christmas cards.

Have you looked into Medishare?
I have no personal experience, however I have met people who do and love it. (I believe there are other similar programs out there as well)

We did a few years ago, but my wife was a sinning smoker, so wouldn't take her. She's righted her ways now, so maybe will circle back there and see. Thanks.

Have you tried to look at HSA plans? Triple tax vehicle. Works well for people that don't go to the doc a lot.

I'm not for single payor yet, but I totally get where @tiasman is coming from. It's so broken, it's hard to see any fix. There is a huge no-mans land where people make too much for soonercare or subsidies and too little to afford the crappy policies available now with obamacare. I think it's been largely successful in its goal of grinding the fight out of a chunk of us on single payor, which was their ultimate plan anyway.

I paid about ~$900 month for cobra from my last job in 2014. Far from cheap, but it was decent insurance, ie seems like it had a $1k deductible and paid 80/20 and so on. You could actually use it if needed, and included dental. Now, the cheapest available is $1400 month and it literally pays nothing until I'm out of pocket another $8700 AT LEAST, and up to $17k for the family.

Another fun part is I haven't been to a doctor in I don't remember how long.
