Could be alittle of both but here they would rather contract the work out than hire more workers.
Relatively small weather event shows how large an impact no power a few days really is. Read the book Lights Out if you want to imagine an entire country without electrical power. Pretty scary how simple it would be to put America out of commission.

Maybe a bad choice of words. Seems like a few days without power is pretty major. Just imagine if cars wouldn’t start and no power anywhere. People would die and be killing each other within a week. Read the book, pretty sobering thought to think what could happen with an EMP or other means of taking out our already weak electrical infrastructure. We all like to think what badasses we would be. The truth is most of us aren’t prepared and would not last long.

I guess time will tell. I’m as pro America as anyone but we grow weaker by the day. A few days without power is just a sample of what could come. People need to be a lot more prepared than they are now.
It may have been a blessing in disguise as hollowed out that tree is. Could have been a widow maker when you least expected it or worse, one that crippled you. I would be glad it's gone, I'm sure @THAT Gurl could give you some insight on that.Just so glad she is still with us, this place would really be boring if not!!!

Ask grumpy. He will explain it to you.I saw that. Broke my heart. There was a house over in Warr Acres (not far from me) that had a big tree fall on it but no one died, thank goodness. I do NOT understand why anyone wants trees big enough to kill them all around their house.
