I appreciate honesty even if it’s not traditionally appropriate, and I’m positive there should be a lot more obituaries written like that.

There’s not much I hate worse than going to a funeral for a known scumbag and hear the preacher or whoever giving the eulogy attempt to paint the individual into something besides a sack of dog ****.
My experience is different. Most of the ones that I've been to in the past consist of two minutes about the deceased, and then twenty minutes of preaching "Turn or Burn". Maybe that's why there's more "Celebration of Life" services now--less depressing.

I am sure that there are many people who think of me as a piece of dog**** as well.

And still, judge not, lest ye be judged.

I've been to a couple of those funerals myself, The preacher says Bob was a good Christian man that always helped others. Everyone starts looking around like Am I at the right church? This guy didn't know Bob at all, he was a low life slimball, and I can't believe the casket isn't on fire yet. But hey, a fifty dollar bill can buy some nice words.
Why attend the funeral for Bob if that’s the case?

Not going to lie but theres been a few funerals I have attended where in my mind I was thinking glad you are gone.

I hope they really did have a relationship with the lord and were forgiven for their sins tho, but knowing some of those people and how they lived, really makes be doubt they are in heaven, I hope they are, I do, but something tells me otherwise unfortunately.
