Some people probably buy them since they are hyped. A lot of people will tell you to buy a Glock, but not give other options, then when people shoot them, they don't like them as much, or they shoot another gun and like it a lot better.

Glocks may not work for everyone. I like mine, but it's not as interesting to me as my Sig or my Kimber.

glocks are great reliable pistols, they hold their value...(if not bought at full retail) and are easy to resell if you get in a jam and need money. Easy to replace as well for cheap..If you got $400 you can own easy. see summitgunbroker.com as mentioned above. He is easy to deal with and as good as it gets for online purchases.

Used Glocks in this same category should cost about $400 - yes, even with only 10rds though it - the cost between a new/used gun has been a pretty standard set $100 price difference (at least with Glocks/XDs/M&Ps - or even Sigs). Night sights don't add $100 to the price - and an extra mag doesn't add $35 to it - its all used stuff now and I can buy a new set of night sights (an expirable item btw) or a new mag for those prices.

Just out of curiousity.... why should these glock add ons be given away for free? They would add to a Sig, H&K, 1911 etc. Granted I don't think someone should add full price to these items, they should add some value. For instance I added $75 to the price of my glock for sale for add ons that cost me nearly $170. New glock is $499 + tax.... ~$40..... then night sights.....$75-110.... and mags $20 each. I don't see a $150-200 difference for a gun you buy "used" with copper grease still on the rails (10 rounds) and you don't have to fill out a form.

FWIW I have also bought from Summit and Mark is good people.

Glocks are simply top notch. Reliable, accurate, cheap to purchase, cheap to fix if needed. A very large selection of aftermarket items, holsters, etc. Lots of different round choices for different individuals.

IMO, they are great looking guns. If I had a choice, it'd be all I carried ;)

Well - I've got to say that the more I've heard the "don't have to fill out a form" line when trying to sell an "almost new" gun for the same price as new, the more I wonder about folks who are that paranoid of having filled out a 4473 (I'm not directing this towards GMT).

That's not a real selling point with me since it has almost nothing to do with someone showing up at my door looking for a gun (the sales records kept by the store are what they would go by since that is where the serial number is recorded). Even then, with OK's laws on buying/selling used - it shouldn't be a selling point since all my guns were sold at gun shows or lost in Eufaula anyways :D.

I can get out of paying sales tax by ordering online and using a $10 FFL transfer from any number of local gun shops - so again, Tax shouldn't be a selling point for anyone on this board - its the price we all paid to support out local brick/mortar establishments, not a way to make more money off of a gun.

And I understand what you're saying man - and I'm not saying that you should be giving stuff away for free, but night sights are used when you sell them as a private individual - they are an expiring item, so they definitely don't get "new prices" when sold on a used gun. Brand new to some folks could mean brand new in the box (that has been sitting on my shelf for half a year and I bought it at a pawn shop where they sat for another half a year).

Mags are the same way - they're still a used item and if I can get them new for the same price, its not a good deal to include in the price of the gun as if they were brand new - I can order those online with no FFL costs for the same price I've seen used mags give "added value" when included in some gun deals on here.

The problem is that someone can say they only have 20rds through the gun with night sights that were only xyz old, but I don't know that there have actually been 20rds through the gun until I inspect it (and even then, its just a guess).

People often unload bad guns at gun shows - and I'm guessing that with the number of members we have on this site now, several folks are looking to do the same in the classifieds here. We've got members who logged 20 posts and have contributed nothing further other than buying/selling to make a profit.

I would guess that most folks don't put enough rounds through a pistol to ever even know if something's wrong - and don't forget that those guys are selling second-hand Glocks that they were told were "like new" on here too.

That's the peace of mind that the extra $100-$150 buys me. If it only costs $25-$50 more for that same peace of mind (or in some cases in the classifieds - actually less than used prices), then there's no need for me to ever buy used again.

You CAN get out of sales tax by buying online but you rarely if ever see LN guns at summit. If so it won't last but a day or so. Usually, they are police trade-ins with burnt sights in terms of glocks. Don't get me wrong, they are priced accordingly and it's hard for me NOT to order something everytime I visit.

Tax is VERY much a selling point because it adds up to me. Honestly, that's why I look around in the classifieds here. Case and point I JUST bought a gun from the classifieds and not paying tax was a significant motive because it would have been nearly $100 for the tax on the gun if new. I'll sure as heck guarantee you it's a selling point when buying 1911s or rifles over $1000. Especially since people will haggle over as little $10 from my experiences.

No tax is a hell of a selling point to me also. As for buying online, yeah shipping is usually cheaper than tax, but its still a % you can save off every gun if you can get it from an individual.
