We've had some trouble with poachers spotlighting from the county road and shooting at eyeballs in the brush. Had 2 calves last year that were killed by road hunters. So we took preemptive action this year, contacted the county commissioner, and had the road closed. We own both sides of the county road for the whole mile, no houses within 3 miles, and it dead ends on the next section. So no one has any business on that road for any reason.
Set corner posts and put up gates at both ends with locks on the Friday before muzzleloader season opened. Within 24 hours the first gate was pushed in, looked like someone backed into it. So we put it back up, and drove in 5 inch steel posts and welded them solid, making the road truly impassible to anything except a 4 wheeler.
At 3:30am this morning, someone ties a tow strap around the other gate and yanked it off, drug it about half mile up the road and dropped it. Then proceeded to drive down the road that has no exit at the other end, presumably road hunting.
What these 2 morons failed to notice was that I set up an infared flash trailcam at a gate entrance, that seems to have a lot of game traffic. Got a nice black and white picture of a Toyota 4X4 with these idiots rolling by at a snails pace. I tested the speed on my 4 wheeler to see how slow you have to go to get that clear a picture and it's less than 5 mph.
When they got to the other end, they yanked the other gate open, only to find it impassible anyway, or maybe just to be destructive. They must have hauled a$$ coming by the other way because there wasn't a picture.
Rehung the gate, drove posts and welded in solid on the other end today.

How drunk do you have to be to not see a red flash less than 10 feet outside the window?

Regardless, it is on like donkey kong now. If I find this vehicle driving anywhere in the vicinity, there will be hell to pay. Here's the picture so you can keep an eye out too. Any info on the vehicle or occupants would be appreciated.

You should poach the trespassers.

Seriously though, these guys need punished. At least your cam gives you an ideal time to be camoed' up in the bushes waiting for them to try this again. Once they get in, call the authorities and block them in.

They will do anything. Here is a pic of a trespasser that I caught on my stealthcam. We identified him as the neighbors son and he got a ticket. I'm 200 yds from their property line where this pic was taken.

You need to show this picture to the Game Wardens. A lot of times they know the problem children and they may recognize the truck and occupants. I hope you catch them.

I'd post this pic at all of the local gas stations and diners and offer a small reward for information leading to an arrest. Surely someone would come forward.

you must hide you camera really well, or this guy is a moron also. I'm always afraid someone is gonna be in where they're not supposed to be, see the camera take their picture, and steal the camera. I don't want to have to buy those security boxes to lock them to the tree, they're a pain in the a$$, they're expensive, and I shouldn't have to lock something on my own property.

I was shocked as the camera was in plain sight just strapped to a tree. He has been busted before by having a .22 hornet in his possession along with his bow on opening day of bow season.
