I was cruising Gunbroker and Auction Arms today and came across a guy selling complete polymer AR lower assy's for $109 sounds a little screwy. but you can see the ads by searching for - plum crazy
He had no recent feedback on AA but quite a bit on GB.

I wonder what exactly these are? The way part of the ad reads they are a polymer fcg which makes me think airsoft. But then I'm not familiar with polymer ar's.

Looks like they may have stopped.

http://www.cavalryarms.com/MKII.html

As of March 3rd, 2010 Cavalry Arms Corp. has ceased all firearms manufacturing and sales.

This section of the website is for historical purposes only

CAV-15 MKII Receivers

CAV-15 MKII Receivers are injection molded from glass filled nylon 6, a polymer material very similar to that used by other firearms companies. Polymer offers unsurpassed corrosion resistance, finish durability. and is significantly lighter than aluminum based receivers.

The receivers are molded in two halves and assembled using a linear vibration welding process. Linear vibration welding forms the two halves into one solid piece. Every contact surface between the two halves is bonded together with a weld that is even stronger than the parent material.

Injection molding allows for more cost effective and faster production of parts of consistent quality. Production cost savings are passed onto the consumer.

Doesn't Cavalry Arms make polymer lowers?

Ok while I have no direct experience with them I have been reading about them in another forum I frequent and there there has been nothing but good reviews there one guy is running one full auto even. Apparently they are not made of the same material that the cav arms ones were/are but something more substantial. There was a video of one in a vise and a guy beating on the buffer tube with a 5lb sledge and nothing happening but I can't find it now.

If a couple of you guys want to do a group buy, I might be in for a couple of them. I have found them for $129 shipped and I found a site this morning that has them for $99. Just need a local FFL.

That guy is a stooge. He was busted on another forum posing as other users and giving good reviews of his product. What's wrong with a regular lower?

I hate to dredge up an old post, but I just came across this today and it seems like a decent deal for an economic build. I saw a review where they had run 300 rounds of 7.62x39 through it with no issues. 300 rounds doesn't seem like all that many to me, so I'm hoping there may be someone here with more experience.

Biggsly - I'd likely be in on a group buy.
