Well, we haven't kicked the topic of ghost ring sights on a handgun around for a while.
Since I wear progressive bifocals now I find I have a difficult time even seeing the front sight and the target. I've found that I seem to shoot pistols with a short sight radius (XD9 SC and Walther PPS) better than pistols with a longer sight radius.
Amongst the many gimmicky sights out there are the hexsites.
Has anyone actually tried these?
Any other up and coming geezers out there having problems with your progressive bifocals and shooting? What works for you?

I have astigmatism, so I have similar issues. Unfortunately, the only real way to know is to try a set. Personally, I would probably try Aro-Tek, since they (unless they've changed the design) use a screw-plate, rather than a press-fit dovetail. That means you should be able to send the sights back, "as-new", if they don't work.

Currently, I'm using Warren Tactical rears, with an XS standard dot. Over the years, I'm finding more difficulty with vertical-stringing in relation to being able to actually see something of both dot and target, in relation to the rear, so I may be moving in the GR direction as well. Yes, I see the front sight rise, but I have the choice of either it, or the rear notch, being a vague shadow, so...(e.g., this isn't a control problem).

Try a fiber optic front site, i have a hell of a time with black fronts on anything but a white target these days. The bright color of the F/O front really helps me.

I wonder if if effective use of ghost ring sights also requires going back to the old school Weaver stance? That would probably make the sight picture work well, in the isoceles stance the ring would be too far away. Trade off a superior stance for a better sight picture?
I like the TruGlo TFO sights on my wife's XD9 sub, but can't get them for my Walthers (PPS/PPQ) that I like better in almost every other respect.
Glocks are the platform to have for trying out all these different options since everyone makes accessories for them first, but every Glock I've owned had an ejection path that often included my forehead.
