Got a used one recently. Just shot it for the first time at H&H.

At first I shot some .45 Colt ammo loaded pretty heavy. It felt almost exactly like my .44 Mag Redhawks.

Then I shot three rounds of the .454 stuff. Oh mommy! I am not very recoil sensitive, but I foresee not too much plinking with loads this stout. I may carry it during gun deer season this fall in case some unsuspecting trophey comes in close enough for a pistol shot.

I did shoot some Winchester .45 Colt rounds. They were very mild.

Anyone else shooting this little cannon? Always wanted one and found a member here who was willing to sell his. Nice gun with a Weaver 2x scope.

I think I'll research a light load for practice when the brass I ordered comes in. Only concern is will the light load shoot in the same place as the heavy hunting loads? We'll see.

Taking it out to Banner road one day next week along with my muzzleloader to see what it'll do for me at 50 yards.

I sold one for a guy moving back to AK. Very nice pistol. Too much for me being a small guy but its a man's gun. I would prefer a 10mm auto with really hot loads and an expansion bullet but toveach his own. If I had a casull I would carry it as I missed a 10 point that way with my primary weapon in the stand taking a leak on a warm afternoon on a hilltop.

Yep them 454s are almost insane, kinda wish I'd fired a couple with the new grip.

The grip works great. It was just on the line between sharp and painful. Ejection was a little tough, probably because I had already shot several .45 rounds. A good cleaning of the cylinder should corredt that.

I will probably just use .454 brass loaded down a bit for plinking to stay consistent, but those .45 loads in the bag are impressive.

Recoil on this gun is pretty sharp. Not a big displacement of the gun, just a fast impluse pretty much straight back. Tolerable, but near the top of tolerability for my old hand.

The Hogue grip that's on the gun is nice, but I am considering picking up a pair of shooting gloves for use when hunting and on the range.

Any suggestions as to what and where?
