Got out today on Kaw. Lake level is back to normal.
A 7lb hybrid can sure bury a hook in your leg. The thrashing of the fish on the front hook really brought the pain to a new level. Had to carry the fish with the hook imbedded to the front of the boat to get my needle nose with it flopping.
Finally got it off the lure and tried to pull it out. No way. Had to bite the bullet and force it back out.
Gamagatsu hooks are so hard wire cutters won't cut it. Finally got the barb pushed down and pulled it out.
Ended the morning with a sand bass, blue cat, and one small crappie that should have gone back, but he was bleeding from the gills.
Ate that dammed hybrid tonight!
For reference, the board is 12" wide.
