I really wish the homeowners or tennants had shot and killed that guy now the legal system charges him with 6 felonies and 2 misdemeanors and everything but 3 felonies are dismissed, we need to make homeinvasion a death penalty charge and maybe they would slow down or stop.

Arrest made in Tulsa home invasion robbery

By NICOLE MARSHALL World Staff Writer

Related story: Charges filed in robbery at lawyer's home

Police have arrested a man in the June 20 home invasion robbery at a Tulsa lawyer’s home and said that they now believe he is linked to another home invasion robbery this week.

William Harley Tottress, 23, was charged Thursday with robbery with a firearm, first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm and assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the robbery and assault at Stephen Rodolf’s home near 26th Street and Peoria Avenue.

Three men held Rodolf and two out-of-town guests captive and threatened their lives, Rodolf said.

The robbers entered the home through an open garage door and bound two of the victims as they beat the third, Rodolf said. The thieves got away with money and 11 of Rodolf’s guns.

The men reportedly talked of killing the three victims but decided against it and fled in Rodolf’s car, he said.

The investigation has led detectives to believe that Tottress and other unnamed suspects are linked to the home invasion robbery in the 1400 block of South Carson Avenue on Tuesday, Sgt. Dave Walker said.

After the charges were filed against Tottress on Thursday, an extensive search by detectives and patrol officers began. Tottress
was believed to be heavily armed and a continuing threat.

Patrol officers located Tottress’ vehicle in a parking lot at The Meadows apartment complex in the 2800 block of South 115 East Avenue around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Officers observed Tottress get into his vehicle and drive off. They stopped his vehicle in the 2300 block of South Garnett Road and took him into custody.

Inside Tottress’ vehicle police found one handgun taken in the robbery at Rodolf’s house. An iPod was also recovered that had the name of the victim etched in the back.

Robbery detectives continued the investigation and developed two more suspects in the case, Walker said.

A search of an apartment in the Seminole Hills apartment complex in the 1600 block of East Ute Street resulted in the recovery of five additional guns.

Man Killed During Home Invasion

Tulsa police are looking for suspects after a home invasion turned deadly for one man.

30-year old Corey Johnson died after the violence at his home, near Hartford and 27th Street North. Investigators say one of the suspects may have been called " lo-lo" during the attack.

Newschannel 8's Kim Jackson says police want to know the connection between Johnson and his killers.

There's no certainty when it comes to crime. But police say someone broken into a back door here and killed a man, in the presence of a one month old baby.

Neighbors knew the man who lived in the yellow house on 27th Street North, Corey Johnson.

"I know of him. He's a good neighbor he is real nice to me and I was nice to him we got along real good and I hate what happened to him," said Curtis Cato.

What happened to him. His home was invaded. By three suspects.

"Our victim was sleep in the living room with his girlfriend and new baby when three individuals came in through a back window of the home and began to assault the victim," said Jason Willingham, of Tulsa Police.

They also beat his girlfriend police say. But the baby was unharmed. Eventually, they shot Johnson while he sat on the floor.

The big question is why. Police think there is some connection. They just don't know what.

"Now whether this was a target, whether this individual was targeted or if there was a specific item in the house we are looking at all of those aspects to see why it happened," said Willingham.

Police said two other recent home-invasion robberies also seem to have been crimes of opportunity.

Seeing open doors, robbers entered the home of Stephen Rodolf, near 26th Street and Peoria Avenue, in June and the home of Rabon Martin, in the 1400 block of South Carson Avenue, on July 6, police said. People in each home were assaulted by the armed robbers.

Three suspects have been charged in the Rodolf robbery and assault, and one of them is also charged in the Martin robbery. One of the three suspects, Ryan K. Smith, has not yet been arrested.

Smith, 21, is described as black, 6 feet 3 inches tall and 170 pounds.

Thursday’s shootings happened about a day after another home invasion that left a resident dead.

Police said masked intruders ransacked a home in the 600 block of East 27th Place North before fatally shooting Corey Lajuan Johnson, 30.

The assailants, who are at large, made gang-related remarks during the ordeal and took property from the home.

They were black, wore hooded jackets and had cloths covering their faces, police reported.
