The high price is because they are carbide dies which are more expensive than steel dies. You don’t need to use lube for carbide pistol dies, but lube is still required for carbide rifle dies.

Dillon Carbide 3 die set is normally $180 they are out of stock. But for a while Dillon stuff has been bringing insane money on Ebay. Used 20 year old 550s going for new price or more. People don't want to wait on 7-10 shipping I guess. If you look around there are dealers online that have most items though.

Man, I've lost a few good carbide blades to concrete. Hard, but brittle. Curious if the dies are tough.

The dies are round and thicker than a blade. Dropped a couple of them over the years and they suffered no damage. Concrete had a little chip.
