I think trying to neck down a .308 to .22 is a bit much.
Well………308 is the parent case of 22-250 ain’t it? Soooooo…..yeah not sure where this is going.
Savage 25-3000 is the parent case of the .22-250.
The .243 is based on the .308 which has as its parent the 30-06.
I'm sure my dad has made the 22-243 from 308 at some point, I prefer to make mine from 243 though
I have lake city 30-06 match brass that has been necked down to .270.
I made quite a few of my 6.5-06 brass from 270 before I realized why I had to trim so much more on the 270's vs 30-06/25-06...the 270 parent case is actually the 30-03 instead of the 30-06, and are longer in OAL
I “ inherited “ a couple hundred rounds of 30-06 sized into .270 from a former club member that had a class IV is it, to sell reloaded ammo?
Anyway, it definitely shoots good.
Your correct in the parent cartridge of the .270 being the 30-03. I’m so used to using the same shell plate when reloading both that I assumed they both had the same parent cartridge.
