223 1 in 12 twist how heavy?

has anyone used a 55 grain 223 for deer? the lightest i have used was 75 grain and it worked great but through a different gun.

I have used 55 grain VMAX for years to deer hunt with.

I have used 55 grain VMAX for years to deer hunt with.

I foundd 55 grain Ballistic Tips to be tougher than a lot of bullets, at least the base of the bullet would dig pretty deep. The bullet I used on deer in this rifle a couple of times was the 60 grain Hornady hollow point, the flat based version.
