what is your experience with 1 in 12 twist 223 with 21 inch barrel? can i shoot 60 grain?

Sure, you can shoot it. But it probably won't perform too well. I'm guessing 55gr stuff is about as heavy as you're gonna get and have decent performance.
55 is the heaviest. 60 and up will key hole a target at 25m from instability

no sir. it is a howa 1500. i haven't confirmed the twist rate yet bit it may be a 1 in 11 or a 1 in 12 twist?
has anyone used a 55 grain 223 for deer? the lightest i have used was 75 grain and it worked great but through a different gun.
I have been shooting Hornady 52gr. Does vary well. I have been thinking of letting mine go for one that can shoot the beaver bullets. just don’t know yet. sale or re barrel.
