Yup the prices have been going steadily up on JMs for a while especially on 357s. I have seen some videos of folks getting new Ruger made 1895s on youtube but I don't believe Ruger has dropped their 1894s yet. The Ruger made 1895s are suggested retail of $1399. So don't expect their new guns to ease the prices on marlins.

To get a lever 357 under $1200 its Rossi or Henry.

I had a chance at a new Ruger made 1895 for $1100 and mistakenly passed on it. :smack:

I was in Idabell last mid-October. Pretty good sized gun store downtown. Thinking they called themselves a pawn shop, but there was very little of the typical pawn junk. Mostly guns. Sorry, forgot their name. Anyways, pretty good clutch of Marlin lever guns for sale. Had a buddy with me and he bought a used but extremely slick JM Marlin in 45-70 for I think a grand. Don't know how many were 357s. I had already spent 700 bucks on a like new Hk usp45 elite. I was tapped out and quit looking.
