i loaded and ran some through a glock 21 with an aftermarket ported barrel, no issues, i would make sure that you run it through a quality gun in good working condition. it also uses specific 45 super brass, dont try stuffing that extra powder in regular 45 acp brass.
Thats interesting. I've used my 1911 on two deer, and it worked well. More power, may not be necessary, but why not?

I've read about it but haven't tried it yet. Based on what I've seen I would just go with 10mm Auto if I needed a semi-auto pistol with more of a whop.
Double Tap makes an interesting 45ACP round that I beleive uses a 255gr lead bullet at +p preasures and is supposed to penetrate real well. I've seen the damage the same bullet in 10mm 200gr does on a doe when shot out of a 16in barrel carbine. It was very effective.
