450 savage?

Anyone ever play with this round, I picked up a nice little Mexican Mauser chambered in it. I’ve got a 22-250 barrel that will fit the action. It was thinking of playing with this round a little.

Trying to figure out how a 22-250 barrel would work with a .45 call cartridge. Talk about THIN WALLS once it's rebored...?

I think he's talking about removing the original barrel and screwing on a .22-250. Still wonder what cartridge it is actually chambered for right now? 250 Savage? 450 Bushmaster? If it's 250 Savage, the bolt face matches up, no problem. Don't know about the Bushmaster. Have to look that one up.

Bushmaster is .473 rim diameter ... same as 250 Savage/22-250 and a bunch of other common calibers.

Sorry it’s a 450 marlin lol I don’t know why I can remember the round. I actually have a nice 98 bolt that will fit right this receiver, for the 22-250. I kinda have some bits and pieces of some 98’s and 96’s. I don’t know anything about it but I know the 45-70 I ahot hurt like a sob.

Ya sorry that is what I was talking about. I’ve got a small ring 98 22-250 prefit mauser barrel that’s blued and would match. I’ve got a a standard 98 bolt that should fit that receiver, only reason I’m thinking about changing it is the barrel I have is an exact fit and small ring Mauser actions that are nice are hard to find, and I know shot about the 450 Marlin.
