Im building mine for hunting mainly so I want to keep it light as possible but I would also like to do so long range target shooting with it. I have the Alexander Arms fluted 16" lite barrel so Im really wondering how effective that will be past like 500 yards? Most of the data I was able to find showed a very insignificant difference in velocity from the 16-18" barrel. I was also hoping to find someone that could speak to the quality/accuracy of Alexander barrels. Thanks in advance

I don't have an aa barrel, but have heard good things about them. I have a jp barrel, it's pretty good, have shot it to 650 yds. You might check out 6.5 Grendel forum, lots of good info there.

There are some loading books from 6.5 forum that have good info. There are guys getting 2200fps-2550fps out of a 16" barrel
