a couple questions on coins

I've got a couple questions on coins and i'd like the more knowledgeable people to step in.

1. are 1947 nickels silver??

2. I have a mexican coin with a mayan character on it,It says $50 on it,not 50 pesos......whats it worth if anything?

No silver in the 1947 nickel. Only 1942-1945 had silver.

No idea on the Mexican without seeing it, but I would bet it is not worth much.

The mexican coin is probably 50 pesos, worth about $4.21 american right now. The mexican coins have the $ symbal on them, but it is pesos.
