about 204 ruger load

i have a friend who just bought a 204 ruger and i will reload for him so does anyone have a good load with varget and 40 gr V max, (yeah i know all rifles are different) but i have found tha give or take most run close with the same loads all you need t do i tweak it a little.

So please can anyone help with a load.

maybe this will help ruger hawkeye 20 inch barrel 1in12 twist

will 40 grain bullets even stablize in that short of a barrel.

Hey, if you hear of some good ones, PM me the info. I just bought a Remy 700 in 204, and that is what I was thinking of. I have a pound of Varget and was looking at the 40 gr Vmax bullets.

I use "heavy" 45 gr. Hornady Spire Points over RL-15 in my 204 Ruger T/C Contender carbine. This 5 shot 100 yard group measured about 0.78 inches.
