Adjusting night sights

I go there regularly and have to take another gun in for work.. Do I have the range guys adjust the site or go to the gun smith counter?

I would do this if this is a place you visit.

Well, the thing about night sights is that the tritium is enclosed in glass capsules.
If you pound on them just wrong, you can crack the glass.
It might be prudent to have someone with a sight pusher move the rear sight in the direction you want the POI to move.

yes move them right, just a touch at a time. A little makes a huge difference

I don't think so, you move the rear sight in the direction you are hitting. If you are hitting left, and move the rear sights right, your POI is moving farther left?

blutch, take the gun to the gunsmith counter and tell him how its shooting and he will fix you up in a few minutes

Wrong.
I teach this stuff in NRA BAsic Pistol, and have the poster right here in front of me.
"Always move rear sight in the same direction that the hits on the target should move."

The reverse is true if you are moving the front sight.

Yup, you are exactly right, I had it backwards!! Not enough coffee this morning when I was posting, sorry for the confusion, thanks for catching it Rod!!
