They really don't. Unless of course they outweigh the FGST members. They'll spout of there mouths, some people here will want to touch the hem of their garments, but their opinions don't matter any more then yours.

I agree that many celebs are useless in every way (including acting), but to say that their word carries no more weight than ours is ignoring the fact that they reach a very large audience of mindless zombies (some of whom vote) who are willing to rally around a cause.

That's quite a bit more weight in the way of enacting change (via fame/media-time) than most folks on this board have access to.

Agreed. Many so called "celebrities" are little more than oxygen robbers. Unfortunately the uniformed flock to people as a beacon of hope and direction. For that reason some actress who made a guest appearance of Charlie's Angels in 1977 can still influence people to purchase one particular brand of denture cream over another.
