Supposed to be able to hear casual talking better and be rather comfortable.
When a loud noise happens, some sort of baffle shuts down to reduce the sound.
When I shoot now, I wear the disposable plugs with the ear muffs.
The way I lose things, I can't afford the high dollar units.
Let me know if you've tried these of something comparable.

I have them and use them, but I tend to double plug still. I wear them open, under a pair of electronic protectors. I normally wear a pair of disposable ones under the electric protectors but they don't breath and get uncomfortable fast.

In an indoor range I would definitely double plug still, the sound exposure is very different compared to an outdoor range. In an outdoor range unless you were right next to someone you might be able to get away with just using them by themselves.

I haven't tried them yet, but I got a pair for my Dad to try out this year while handgun hunting. He's used them with 9mm and .45s so far and they seem to work, although not quite as well as regular earplugs. He thinks they will work fine for the .44 mag while out hunting, but won't be using them at the range.
