AP ammo at the show today

I seen at the gun show today a dealer had armor piercing ammo, I'm 99% sure that its illegal in Oklahoma to own, so how is he able to sell it?

It wasn't the steel core 556 ammo, he had several different calibers, including 50 caliber.

It was black tipped which designates it as armor piercing.

AP rifle ammo is legal to own and sale but illegal to manufacture new AP projectiles, AP pistol ammo is just an all around no no IIRC.

After going back and reading what I could find, I guess it may be vague on purpose, all I could find was that AP ammo was restricted in Oklahoma. I have looked it up before and just figured it was all AP ammo. This is why OSA is such a great site.

Only if it fits a handgun. You can buy all the '06 or 50bmg ap you want.
that was part of the assault weapons ban that didn't go away in 2004
