AR-15 100 Round Drums

Anyone have experience with the 100 round drum? Is it worth it? I just seen one sell on here for $440. I know where I can get them considerably less. Would you?

I understand they take a lot of graphite lube to run smooth. Not worth it IMHO

Out side of "cool" factor of 100 rounds, I see no reason to own one.

I'd rather reload twice and be 10 rounds short but have confidence it will function.

No not worth it because they take a lot of graphite. Just not worth it IMHO. I was just commenting that they need to be lubed well to work well.

I bought a Surefire 60 mag a couple months back...it works great and ain't real bulky...I tried to order another...and it isn't likely I'll ever get it!!

I wouldn't mind trying one some day just to check it out. For me, I'm going to stick with the 30 rounders. Lots more of them, cheaper, lighter weight and easier to carry.

I've got a NIB Beta Mag and have never even put a round in it.

You need to be careful of brand. I have no experience with the Korean stuff but don't put a lot of faith in them. Have a few betas. 9mm ones are great. 223 is ok and fun on full auto. Sort of like sticking a 32 round mag in a glock 26. Might seem cool to start with but it takes A LONG time to empty.
