I've shot a S&W M&P-15 with a Model One 7.62x39 20" upper and a C-Products 10-round mag. It was quite accurate out to 200 yards and still fairly accurate at 300 yards, especially with a scope mounted. I had no issues with Silver Bear, Golden Tiger, or Monarch ammo shot through this combo. Fun times :)

It's a great idea to shoot 7.62 through an AR but the high capacity magazines in that caliber are still an issue. C-Products makes 30 rounders in 7.62 but I had trouble with 4 out of 5 of my mags. C-Products made it right but I'd rather have 100% reliability. I think I'd stick with the AK if I was going to have a 7.62.

This - if Magpul starts making PMAGS in 7.62x39 for the new Bushmaster ACR, then life will be good and I bet there's a ton of 7.62x39 ARs out there, but until someone steps up with reliable 30rd mags, its pretty much pointless unless you're not in need of any mags with more than 10rds in them.
