Baofeng UV-5R, Ham Radio, What can I listen in on in OKC?

As for an SDR , I have the ATS25X1. I made a long wire antenna on an alligator clip that runs the length of my attic and I just connect it to the radio antenna . Where I am at the rig works better in the summer months and at night. It is fun to listen in when I am working on other things ....

I visit http://websdr.org/ to play around and I'm thinking I might get better reception by experimenting with my loop antenna placement.

That ATS25x1 looks cool, I really like having the waterfall.

Edit; looking closer, I guess it doesn't have the waterfall...

So much to learn.

Half the fun of this is all the different ways to communicate , it really got cool for me when I started getting into the Digital end of this. Wires x, DMR Brand Meister and TGIF have me talking all over the world on a handheld through the MMDVMs running Pi-Star.
Building wire antennas , jpoles ........ list goes on and on.
This year I am going to help with the OKC Memorial Marathon , not sure what I will be assigned yet but will be using a handheld or go rig I put together to help with communications to support the runners.

Looks like you've gone pretty far down the rabbit hole, I don't know what a lot of that is but looking forward to getting it figured out.
I think I'll go with the dongle and software sdr soon.
