Sounds like another foreign intruder in the making. Add to starlings, english sparrows, asian carp, etc. Who knows though, maybe it will be a success like the Chinese pheasants.

I'll bet they aren't as tasty as pheasant though

I would think that they wouldn't allow them to come into the country willingly if they could become an invasive specie? But then again its a government person making that decision.....
He told me its really tough keeping the colony's alive. He has lost a couple of them already by using store bought meat to feed them. At least that is what he told me happened.

Just make sure the beetles don't get out while your sleeping, they might clean your skull.
