if anyone feels like losing money, i will use excel to calculate the probabilities of any winning any excel game. I will be the house. You may then wire me the funds via paypal...it will save you the time, hassle, and frustration of going to a casino to lose your money ;)

Speaking as someone that works in the industry, the chances DO exist that people can win at a casino. They do in fact win at casinos. Where people go wrong is that they don't know how to stop while they are ahead. :D Although in the long run if you play consistently you will wind up losing some money, you do get pretty good entertainment value in the meantime. Most slot machines will return 92-96% of the money they take in back to the player. Games like poker are against the other players and if you know what you're doing at blackjack you'll get about 99% back over the long run.

All of those numbers assume that you go in to play for a while. If not, then be prepared to designate those funds as entertainment value. All too often we in the industry see people who believe that their luck is going to cash in and start playing with their mortgage payment, car payment or __________ payment. That's really out of the control of the casino and the gaming industry and falls back on the personal responsibility of those playing.

At the same time, casinos do provide jobs for many many people in any location that they are in. The tribes donate a great deal of funds back to the community through infrastructure, education and any number of other programs. Although the gaming industry has its negative points, I would challenge people to point out industries like tribal gaming that put as much back into their communities and give back to their tribal members.

And really, for those saying that they don't want the casino in Broken Arrow (myself not being from there) I would question why they wouldn't. The people who would go play the games in a Broken Arrow casino would have no problem taking their money to any of the casinos in Tulsa, Sapulpa, Catoosa or any of the other nearby locations. If it would boost the employment in the area and provide more entertainment options in a location, is it really all that bad??

Just read about this the other day in the paper.

Big surprise...

I'm skeptical that the City of BA or Sullivan will be able to do anything about it though.

Yes, actually it is that bad.

There is NOTHING ELSE in the proposed area within almost two square miles but churches, schools and homes.

Want to build a Casino... try not doing it in the middle of a neighborhood and you might get less people complaining about it.

Lol....I think you guys are over reacting just a bit. We arent talking about Vegas style Casinos/Resorts with half nude women running around and free drinks as you gamble with drunks everywhere. In my time here, the Indian casinos that are here are a joke. I dont see a problem with it. Yes I live in BA now and the only issue Id have with a casino is the traffic, but again, even the traffic next to the Hard Rock isnt bad.
