Maybe...we'll see if that's the case if I hit the Wanenmacher show this weekend. My CMP 1911 savings fund is growing restless.

Here you go folks...pistols are being received. Pretty nice pistol for $1050 IMO and a USMC rebuild to boot (OB-79 = Barstow 1979). Too bad she's not mine.

A second pistol also surfaced on the CMP forums yesterday afternoon. It was a Anniston rebuild from April 1986 and has a replacement hard slide on a '45 Colt receiver.

Lucas, I see you posted a WTB ad. I take it you think you’re not in the running?

I have no clue. Only approx 2k out of 19k+ have been notified of their place in line. I should receive my lottery number within 90 days, but I know my usual luck in such matters so I am not holding my breath. If I happen to find another pistol in the meantime, I'll just scrape together some extra funds in order to grab a CMP gun. I doubt that my WTB ad will turn anything up anyway...

I'm assuming that no one has received their RNG email yet?

I've tried my best to not voice any negativity about the process, but the notification of lottery numbers has slowed to a snails pace after the holiday. From what I can gather, only the individuals with lottery numbers higher that 1000 have received an email with their assigned RNG. The most recent RNG reports have been in the 2500 range so only 1500+ individuals have been contacted by email with their lottery number. I expected a 60-90 day wait (based on quoted timeframe by CMP 1911 personnel) for all numbers to be assigned, but it appears that it may be much longer. Checking my spam folder multiple times daily is starting to get old...

On the positive side, there have been some really outstanding rebuilds that have already been received including some interesting Marine rebuilds as well as a Letterkenny. I had assumed that most of this batch would be Anniston rebuilds and they have been the minority so far.

Seems that “patience” is even more important with this CMP go-around. I don’t miss that part :D

A Letterkenny rebuild would be neat! Are they marked LEAD?

Absolutely Todd...the lone Letterkenny rebuild that I have seen was electropenciled "LEAD" on the right side of the frame just as they are marked on a Garand receiver leg (no date though). Some of the pistols have more than one rebuild stamp or etching. For anyone who appreciates the historical aspect of arsenal rebuilds, these pistols are extremely interesting.
