Hi Guys & Gals I was just wanting to see if you guys know anyone in the area that tunes these old guns? My Dad has a 1909 45 Colt that he is wanting to get slicked up. Let me know if you do. Thanks Dennis (RG22lr)

There are probably a lot of guys that can slick up an action on a Colt but any kind of timing work or anything complicated requires a Colt specialists and they are as scarce as hen's teeth. I would check the Colt Forum and I would also do some research on the value of the New Service, they have become extremely valuable lately so you may not want to do any "Smithing" on it.

New Service pistols, depending on caliber and condition, are very valuable. If your dad wants a shooter, he may be better off selling the one he has, and buying a shooter.
