Controlled Hunt Success?

Read DreamingMan's post, sounds like an interesting one and a frustrating one at the same time. I made my fifth trek to McAlester this year on the second to last weekend in the Boggy area. Saw lot's of deer, but probably the fewest big bucks of any trip that I've made down there. Loads of quality pass hunters this time and it seemed that our area was pretty crowded, buddy killed a doe, I never had a shot at anything nice or a doe.

I drew a either sex gun hunt at Sandy Sanders. I hunted just short of a full 12 hour day. (walked in before dark) I was successful with a nice 8 point buck.

Back years ago, I'd always sign up on the controlled hunt for the doe hunts, and got drawn many times, as most want to get a buck.
My object was to fill the freezer.
Now they put the best areas around the opening and closing weekends of MZ and Gun season to give those that don't have a place to hunt an option.
I'm Ok with that.
