its the government spying on them..they probably have cameras all over the house and are using this family as an experiment to examine how the average gun owner reacts to different things so they know what to expect before they storm the house with 500 ATF agents

Notice that the dog acts as though he doesn't hear anything? I think the mutt is in on it. They probably implanted one of them chips in the dog I'm thinking. They can train the dogs to hump your leg periodically. The static electricity created recharges the battery in the chips transmitter.
Its easy to tell which dogs have the implant. The ones humpin your leg for fun will tend to smile more.
