i have a SS ruger GP-100 that some one hand polished up and is too bright for my tastes. has anyone tried baking soda blasting or sand blasting to dull a gun??or any other method??thanks

I bead blast with 170 grit glass bead, it gives a great looking finish. If it is too dull then I follow up with ground walnut shell. give it a try but take it all apart, down to the last screw and pin and wash up with soap and water before oiling everything.

You can drag it behind a truck, use muriatic acid, or stick it in a vibrating casing cleaner full of gravel. Good luck.
