It looks like it's been bead blasted.
Can"t believe I am saying this about a Smith but I'm not a big fan of this one.
I hope it had a factory letter with it with a seal.

* Nevermind, I see that it has had a target trigger and hammer added after the fact. 28s came with service triggers (.265"), and semi-target (.375") hammers. I'd be uber-suspiscious about the "factory" nickel, unless the owner sent it back to S&W for a refinish.
Factory nickel 28s exist, but are about as rare as anything out there in a revolver. I don't have my book with me at the moment, or I'd quote the correct hammer/trigger specs.
It's still a pretty revolver though.

That’s quite a find. Years ago, I had a P&R nickel Model 29. Wish I still had one. There’s just something about those S&W N Frames…
