First day of gun season

I thought this guy was a ten pointer, and he looked bigger through the binox and the scope. The newly built 7-08 did its job. He ran about 150 yards, but left a trail of blood that even a 1/8 Choctaw (that would be me) could follow easily.

Kept the antlers, gave the meat to a relative of the landowner. Wish I hadn't shot him, because now I'm out of antlers for the season.

Sorry for the bloody picture. Almost didn't take one because I wasn't happy having killed what on that place is a very mediocre buck. Landowner sent me a picture the next day of what I should have waited for. It's the second pic, taken before season opened, but same deer seen second day. CB
