Well, I finally got all the gear and components....here is my very first batch of reloads.

Just some measly 9mm cast bullets with the min powder charge (by the book of course ;-))....but they're like your kids...might be ugly and smell, but they're yours...haha

Congrats
45acp? Truncated cone? I've only cast 1K or so and they get prettier as you go. I still have a ways to go. They shoot nice. What are you shooting them in?

Congrats!

The real pleasure is taking them out and blasting away knowing you made them and they cost less.

Once you fire them you'll officially ba addicted.

Pretty is in the eye of the beholder.
Sometimes it's a nice tight pattern on a target......

Yeah....I can already feel the addiction coming on and I haven't even shot them yet. Once you get through the whole process and actually have something to hold and see....it really gets you going!!

Congrats on the first reloads, those look nice. Is there a recommended FPS that you have to keep those cast bullets under?

First batch and all, i kept the charge at the minimum. But from reading online the consensus seems to be keeping lead below 1000fps is probably the best. So i'll see what these can do and maybe work it up a bit and see how close i can get to that velocity.

Anyone have any issues with running lead faster than that through your pistolas?

:hypnotize: I did run some .40 thru the cronny at 1100 fps with no leading but have backed them way way down! I'm glad my brother bought that thing!!! we cast our and load a few different bullet's! it' s too fun for a fat guy to talk about!
