Working down in Fort Lauderdale for a little bit...near the site of the former N.A.S. Fort Lauderdale....found this memorial near our job site. Pretty neat.

I first read of this in the fifties in what I think was called the Weekly Reader or something like that for school kids. Very strange and thanks for reminding me of it.

There was a flying boat that disappeared as well looking for the 5 torpedo planes. It is not mentioned on the memorial, it must have been based elsewhere.
