I also was in the Marines and carried the M-14 (with auto "switch) during my tour. He can't get a real M-14 without paying the tax and passing an extensive background check. But he can get the semi auto version. Look for a Springfield M1A. Expect to pay north of $1,200.00.

I’d say he’s willing to pay that. He’s serious as heck about it
