In Port A, try a little restaurant called Shells. Excellent food.
If you get over to the Rockport area, try Moondogs and the Key Allegro Yacht Club.

Plenty of decent food, but nothing I would write home over that we experienced. Tripadvisor is your friend.
That said, the coolest place was the old-timey ice cream parlor. That was good 'cream and just fun to experience. I highly recommend a visit to La Kings Confectionary.

Castaway's in Port Aransas.
Just about anywhere in Galveston is going to have decent seafood. I'll make a few non-seafood suggestions:
Perry's (local steakhouse with several locations in the Houston metro, their pork chops are to die for)
Lupe Tortilla (local chain mexican food)
Taste of Texas (excellent steak, they also have a good quail appetizer)
Cyclone Anaya (very good hispanic fusion cuisine)
