how much thinner is the 36 than the other compacts? I like the compact 1911's and the Kahr cw series because they are so thin. is the 36 comparable to these? thanks!

I would say the G36 is closest in size to a G23, which is a double stack .40 cal. Being single stack, the G36 is a lot slimmer at 1.13" than the G30, (double stack .45) at 1.30".
Kahr's website states that their P45 is 1.01" and weighs in at 17.3 oz. with a 2 oz. mag. The G36 weighs in at 22.5 oz.

Yep, just a little thinner than a 19/23. In fact, they can use the same holsters. A compact 1911 is going to be thinner but I found the 36 to have less perceived recoil.
