Arlington National Cemetery is must see. bring tissues....
Metro, trust me. It's no fun driving a gm crew cab there. Can't fit in any spots ever!! Ride the train
Go to the NRA museum.
Arlington for sure. Take your time and walk the pathways.
The Mall if you've never seen the Memorials. It is impressive.
Air and Space Museum. Another one that will require time.
I enjoyed Monticello and Mount Vernon. You would probably like to use a bus tour for these.

Arlington before all else, IMNSHO.
The rest is interesting, but I would NOT miss Arlington National for anything.

I went 2 years ago with my son's school trip.
My overall favorite thing we saw was the Arlington Cemetary and then the changing of the guards at the unknown tomb.( I don't think I said that right). It was incredible.
I was shocked at all the buildings they had. I was lucky because we had a bus tour, and didn't have to worry about any transportation or anything.
It was so cool to actually see the White House and Capital building in person.
Would love to go back!
