Last nite I went H&H to do some pistol practice. While walking around the retail side afterwards I saw a consignment "Russian SKS" for $720!!!!! It appeared to be in good shape but dang! I got a mint '54 Tula all matching for $400 shipped from WA last November!

Im going to say I got a Russian numbers matching about 5 years ago for 200 smackers. Ive never paid more than 200 and felt like that was steep then. Cheepest I bought was a police chicom 9 years ago for 100

If I remember correctly, in the early 80s the guys in my shop were buying them for $70 each in case quantity (10-12) shipped. For $5-10 more you could buy the better quality "select" ones. I think a 11-1200rd can of ammo added another $70 to it!

I never was into the AK/SKS rifled so I never bought one. I have since wish I had bought one or two to put back an play with.

I have had 2 SKS's, a Norinco D model that was factory made to use AK Mag's, and a Yugo. I bought the Norinco in 2004, came with 12 30rnd Mag's and 1K rounds for $350. Paid $200 for the Yugo. I kick myself because I traded the Norinco even for a 1940 K98K. I kept the ammo though. That D model is selling for 500 now, with one mag. Could of sold the other 11 Mag's for quite a bit!

You'll likely continue to find AR-15's and other weapons that make liberals cower in fear and soil themselves consigned for $2,000-$4,000.

For $720, it'll prolly be there for awhile. Saw one for $700 at the gunshow last weekend, he still had it at the end and all of the recent century imports of chinese type 56s for $550.
