handgun hunting

Gonna give it a try this week & see if I can pop a doe with the S&W mod 57
170 gr sierra & a case of 296. I'm probably good to 50 yrds or so but if the come under the stand like in youth season it wont be a problem .I probably shoud use some heavier bullet or hard cast but these are sighted in & no time to reload before we go. The boy also loaded some M1 garand soft point loads for his deer.It is time he has reloaded should be more memories, it will be a hard day when he wants a stand by himself

Should be fine with the bullet. Focus on placement. This year I took my S&W 629 Classic DX .44 hoping to get one in close, but the opportunity never presented itself.

Took a doe years ago that was over 80 steps! this was before lazer rangefinders shooting 158 JSP from a 6" barrel Dan Wesson, that was a bad thing cause now I'm building another pistol so I can shoot them out further this one will have a scope and big muzzle break Later,
