Isn't that .22 actually a Colt Frontier Scout?

I ask because I've never seen a Colt with the actual name of "Peacemaker".

Enlighten me,,,

What Swampratt said above. Also, the term Peacemaker is basically a nickname given to the Colt SAA (Single Action Army) because of it’s association with the wild west.

Thanks Swamprat and Okiejoe72.

The first line of that article answered my question.

The Colt Peacemaker .22 and New Frontier .22 were introduced in 1970 to replace the earlier Frontier Scout .22 revolvers

A mid-60's "duo-tone" Frontier Scout was the first handgun I ever shot enough to become familiar with it.

It was my Mom's pistol,,,
Lived on top of the refrigerator,,,
Alongside a new brick of .22 shorts.

"Get your chores done without me having to hound you,,,
I'll let you shoot Lucille after dinner."

This is one extremely precise shooting revolver,,,
A sharpshooter friend of my Pop's used to borrow it,,,
He entered in and won a bunch of Sunday afternoon Ham Shoots.

I shoot at least two cylinders every time I go to the range.

Great story! Did your mom keep the ammo in the flour container? That’s what I pictured in my mind when I read your post.

No, it was a traditional 10-box brick of 500 rounds,,,
But Mom always knew exactly how many rounds were in it.

I remember when my brother snuck Lucille out for a few shots,,,
Mom gave him one swat from the paddle for each round missing.

He shot 15 rounds and Mom showed him no mercy.

She made me and the youngest brother watch the punishment,,,
Her way of letting us all share in the pain a bit.

Mom was an old school disciplinarian,,,
Terror and pain were wielded with equal ferocity.

The only reason I wasn't a suspect was because I was away all day,,,
Later in life she told me how she would lay one of her hairs on the pistol,,,
That way she would know at a glance if one of us had been messing around with it.

I never told her that I knew about the hair trick.
