It was my second choice if I didn't go with the M&P 15-22 MOE. But I did go with the smith.

The Smith is more versatile if you want to add true AR parts to it. American Rifleman did a writeup on a bunch of tactical .22's and they liked the HK. One of the guys at the rifle match was running one and he likes it as well. He had no failures or stoppages during the match, which I couldn't say for mine (I had two).
